Bisnis.com quotes the Chairman of the Indonesia Conference and Convention Association (INCCA), Iqbal Allan Abdullah as saying that Visit Indonesia Year 2009 will focus on promoting the convention sector.Reflecting the Department of Culture and Tourism's decision to continue the current "Visit Indonesia Year" promotion into 2009, Iqbal told the press that "next year we will continue the Visit Indonesia Year 2009 by concentrating on conference tourism together with the party of democracy surrounding the presidential elections."The INCCA Chairman said the tourism industry supports the continuance of Visit Indonesia Year into 2009, especially in light of data from the Bureau of Statistics (BPS) that indicate 41% of tourism revenues come from conference-related travel. Reflecting this reality, INCCA in cooperation with the government have provided training to 2,000 meeting, incentive and convention workers in 10 conference destinations nation-wide.The ten cities designated to benefit from conference promotion are Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Manado, Makassar, Batam, Medan and Bukittinggi. http://www.balidiscovery.com/
