CLOSING CEREMONY CELEBRATION MARK END TO HISTORIC GAMES
SANUR, Bali, Indonesia – The 1st Asian Beach Games conclude in Bali, Indonesia, on Sunday, 26 October 2008, with a closing celebration meant to “Inspire the World” one last time. The Closing Ceremony will be held at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana, a monumental cultural park in Nusa Dua, beginning at 20:00 pm.Highlights of the Ceremony include a collborative presentation of Indonesian traditional dances and songs from the five major islands and Bali performed in contemporary traditional style by 150 dancers and musicians. Entertainers from Oman, the host of the next Asian Beach Games, will also peform in the Ceremony.Indonesian Vice President Muhammad Yusuf Kalla, one of several distinguished guests expected to attend, will address the audience on the success of the historic Games. Also scheduled to speak are Aburizal Bakrie, chairman of the Bali Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee (BABGOC), and H.H. Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Sabah, president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).After the handover of the Asian Beach Games’ torch from Indonesia to Oman, which welcomes the Games to Muscat in 2010, the unforgettable nine days of beachside competition in Bali will officially come to an end with the extinguishing of the flame. http://www.bali2008.com/
